I still enjoy the thrill of discovering new destinations and sharing my experiences with others — good, bad or indifferent as they may be. Although no longer working at the 'coal face' of travel, I run Travel Centres — Ireland's largest grouping of independently owned and managed travel agencies, which I founded over 10 years ago with 76 outlets now affiliated to us across the country. The Internet is a wonderful resource and a great research tool but it still cannot beat the knowledge and expertise of a seasoned travel professional. Most people have a tendency to make choices when online based primarily on price whereas a good travel agent will always act as an honest broker on your behalf and show how, invariably, you always get what you pay for. As the sage of Omaha himself (Warren Buffet) once famously said: Price is what you pay but value is what you get! Wise words from a wise man.
