I'm very sorry that you did not get to stay with us. Sometimes 3rd party websites, such as Expedia, Hotels.com, and Booking.com will oversell rooms and cause this nightmare and frustration for the guest and the hotel at which they booked at. We had been closed out to the online agencies for that date for over 5 days, and we are still trying to figure out with Choice Hotels how these other agencies could have booked these rooms? I very much apologize for the inconvenience, but I am glad that the hotel down the road did have a room, and at a cheaper rate than we had. It is always a good idea to contact the hotel directly to make sure everything is confirmed and all set, especially when booking a room at the very last minute for the same day. When most other hotels in the area do not have rooms available, that is a good indication that something is going on in town, and it's prudent to check with the hotel directly beforehand. I can assure you that we and Choice Hotels Intl. are doing everything we can to make sure this does not happen in the future. It apparently was a matter of the synchronizing of our system with the 3rd party systems. Thank you for your comments.
