My family and I came to Lafayette, Louisianal for a funeral. I had to reclean the bathroom and the sink. I had to ask for extra towels since it had 3 beds and 3 people in the room. It's an okay hotel. It just needs...المزيد

Some of the reviews mention mold, roaches, and cigarette smells. I have asthma, and an allergy to roaches from working with them in a college work study job. I am worried your hotel will make me sick. Should I be worried, and cancel my reservation? Also, do you use pesticides in the rooms? That would also make me sick. Others mentioned not feeling safe there. Is there a security guard on duty watching the parking lot, and doors to the rooms? Thanks, Tami

If all of these are a concern for you, there is another La Quinta that is on Pinhook (it's the one listed on travel sites as the "Oil Center" location) only a few miles away that is 100% nonsmoking and has interior corridors which might make you feel safer. It is a tad more expensive but is VERY nice; it almost feels more like a little boutique hotel than a chain.
For whatever it's worth I am also sensitive to mold and did not notice an odor, and didn't notice any bugs, and I look for that sort of thing. For what the Lafayette North location charges, you could certainly do worse. but if you have room in your budget, the Oil Center La Quinta is very nice, as is the Hampton Inn and Suites that is also "in town" and a few miles away from the expressway.
