May I ask how and if you may accommodate such clientele that may not wish to ever own a credit card in their lifetime?
Visa debit cards as u are well aware use what money you do have instead of borrowing more money. Which is what we all need right?
It may be something you may consider looking into for the benefit of let's say, considering the common working class perhaps. Or the not so privileged possibly.
That would be a great resolve to me !
Addressing the issue which a client had raised and trying to please all potential clientele.
The issue we have is that if a booking is made and the guest does not arrive, then we are unable to get the funds to pay for the room as the potential guest can ensure there is no money on the card. Therefore we lose out.
Also, if there is any accidental damage to the room and the guest does not have $500 (our insurance excess) available on their debit card then we lose out.
It is also proof that the guest is 18 years or over (under 18 year olds cannot contract to stay at a motel).
You don't have to borrow money to have a credit card. A high value limit is not necessary. It only costs an annual fee if you pay the bill in full every month.
A credit card is handy for emergencies - such as paying for any accidental damage, a car breakdown etc.
We have no intention of changing our policy on this.
