Nice quiet beach, clean and well cared for. Not too many tourists, mainly locals. Worth hiring sun lounger and parasol from beach bar if you are spending the day there.

Se pueden tomar buenos baños, tanto por el estado habitual de limpieza del
agua, la poca profundidad del fondo y la longitud de varios kilómetros desde Gavá hasta les Botigues de Sitges, lo cual hace que nunca esté abarrotada.
Hay un camino paralelo al Mar muy agradable de transitar. En buena parte del recorrido se está restaurando la vegetación original. También hay zonas con redes de voleibol. Y si nos apetece descansar en una silla mientras tomamos algo, hay numerosos bares y restaurantes a lo largo del recorrido.
En Otoño e Invierno incluso podemos disfrutar del Sol poniéndose en el Mar.

Playa muy masificada el fin de semana o en temporada estival. El agua suele estar bastante sucia y caliente. Si quieres venir a desconectar, difícil porque en temporada alta seguramente te va a tocar alguien al lado con un altavoz como si fuera el encargado de poner música a toda la playa.
A partir de septiembre hasta julio la cosa cambia, sobretodo entre semana. Playa muy tranquila.

Playa estupenda con mucho espacio y dotado de muchos servicios. Hay varios chiringuitos en la playa muy agradables en los que se puede comer bastante bien o tomar copas. El único problema que tiene es el aparcamiento. Solo hay un aparcamiento gratuito en uno de los extremos de la playa y es muy pequeño. Se puede aparcar en las calles de alrededor pero es zona de aparcamiento limitado todos los días.

Wat een geweldig strand. Heel ruim, schoon en altijd genoeg plek ook om bedjes te huren. Zeker als he wat verder weg loopt van het station of de parkeerplek.

the review was helpful thank you! but is the beach likely to get crowded and (consequently dirty) during peak season? We plan to visit Barcelona (family of four) in the second week of June so we would like to avoid going to all the tourist-y crowded beaches in Barcelona

I haven’t been there in summertime but the beach is long and vast so do not think you will have a problem and it looks quite clean
Another attractive beach in Barcelona is Playa Bogatell more crowded but a lovely smaller beach with a yacht harbour asife and streets full of restaurants very pleasant

Hi, i would like to spend around 10 days in Castelldefels (or near Barcelona) with my wife and our 2 year old sun in the first part of the June. We are searching for clean water, clean beach, perfect for playing with my boy in the water. What do you suggest?

We agree with Michael K, it is one of the best features of the area. We left our clothes and went for a walk up the beach and did not feel unsafe at any time in the 10 days we were there. The are some lovely bars and restaurants in the area

It depends what your expectations are. It's not a kids' club type of place but it is somewhere to bucket and spade with your children, swim in the pool and the sea and walk / play on the beach. I would have taken my children when they were small and do take my 14 year old. I would say there's loads for families to do together but it's not a place for a third party to take the children from parents. There's cycling, roller blading and water sports. We have been several times and loved it. Hope this helps.

Si es muy amplia limpia con varios puestos de gastronomia, sobre la av principal a 100 mts paralela al mar , es un pueblo costero al lado de otro muy limpios ordenados y muy tranquilos , por eso vive alli messi!!! tienes varios lugares para recorrer por caminos de montaña muy pintorescos , y a 15 km esta barcelona, todo por autopistas geniales, eso si tienen peajes; pero rutas, sin tambien y muy cuidadas. una zona montañosa gente amable. no dejes de ir que te gustara , mas con niños.

Hello Shiobhain, there were several people sitting on sun beds when I visited in May, I don't know whether they were hired or privately owned but there were several out-lets along the very long beach so I'm pretty sure sun beds would be available. But failing that it's very soft sand on the beach so a beach mat would be ideal.
