I go here about once a year, usually when I'm planning a trip or am looking for some item that I want to take with me. I have bought several books here. They also have some maps.

I travel a lot and WWB is one of my standard stops when I need to browse maps and books about far off places. The store has a decent collection of both, though they have been growing more toward travel accessories and gee-gaws over the years at the expense of the book and map selection.
That being said, they are a very good resource for a decent range of travel needs and information, and they're just nice folks. Plus Wallingford is a nice neighborhood to visit.

This Wallingford neighborhood shop offers travel-related items, from luggage to maps. The vast array of travel books (guides and narratives) is usually what draws me in, but I also like to browse through the nice selection of women's travel clothing. And I sometimes need one of the travel accessories, such as a luggage tag, adapter or neck pillow.
The friendly, knowledgeable staff is ready to assist customers with suggestions and finding books or ordering items not currently in stock. The store has a frequent buyer program that gives a discount on a purchase after a certain amount of money is spent, which I have found to be a nice bonus.
For those visiting Seattle, this makes a good place to buy books about Seattle and the Pacific Northwest or to purchase a map of the area. Depending on the timing, the store could also be an evening destination for a travel program. I have attended many and they were all excellent, from an ER doc, who rescues climbers with altitude sickness on Mount Everest, to a woman who trekked 1,600 miles across the Gobi Desert in 81 days with her 74-year-old husband.
A visit to the store could be combined with a stop at nearby Gas Works Park or the Fremont neighborhood. Plenty of free parking exists in the immediate neighborhood. The store is also extremely close to a bus stop.
