Our first visit to this lake. Love the hiking/biking trails and huge oak trees. Lots of deer and birds. A stocked catch/release lake with two piers. A Good Sam park.

I've been here twice within a week. The first time, I came with my husband, and our two boys (ages 15 and 5). The second time, it was just my husband and I. Both times we stayed just one night.
I booked online both times. I wasn't happy about the $5 online fee making it $35 a night though, but it is what it is. I just don't understand why it's got to be so expensive for booking online.
Check-in was easy although it seems the staff leave earlier than closing time when it's quiet, so if you need something close to closing time, you'll be SOL. Luckily, if you need to buy something, the local grocery store isn't that far away. Oh, also when you check in, there's a little store to buy toys, t-shirts, snacks, and a few other things which was nice. It was also decently priced. Staff was friendly too.
The first time, my family and I were on campsite #31. It was a big area right on Lake Texana and was very open. The kids loved it even if it was super windy. The nose from the highway is very loud when trying to sleep, but that's not their fault. We didn't see any wildlife that time.
The second time, when it was just my husband and I, we chose campsite #25 which was more enclosed by trees and less windy. It was a little smaller than #31 or it seemed that way. That night, we saw a bunch of adorable raccoons. It was also quieter than #31 since it's a little further back.
Both times, everything was very clean. There are comfort stations nearby. Some just have toilets and sinks and others have showers, toilets, and sinks. These were also very clean and well maintained.
If you're looking for wifi, this is not your place. Plus, why would you want wifi when you're camping!?! You're supposed to be connecting with nature. If you want wifi, then go to a city and stay in a hotel. Same with actual cell phone internet. Connection can be spotty, but again, you're meant to be camping and enjoying nature, not checking the internet all the time!
The nature trails are well maintained and clean as well. We didn't see any wild life while walking, but it was still nice to walk around and connect with nature.
The campsites and comfort stations, although very clean, could do with an upgrade as they are looking tired and worn out though.
I would definitely recommend Lake Texana for camping or visiting when you want to relax!

This is no longer a Texas State Park! Brackenridge Recreation Complex is a park operated by the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department terminated its lease in 2012 when the river authority assumed management. Two separate campgrounds here on Lake Texana, Brackenridge Plantation Recreation Area and Texana Park and Campground.
We camped at Texana Park and Campground with reservations made 88 days prior to arrival. Paid $5 on-line reservation fee. FHU $36.67/nightly.
Texana Park entrance gate is locked “after hours” and is secured with a keypunch entry pad.
Our campsite #131, which was 60 feet long, backs into Lake Texana but is without any shade over the pad where we parked our camper. We had to level side-to-side. The pad condition was poor. Very nice view of the lake. Grass neatly mowed around the campground area. No vegetation between campsite, so wide-open view of your neighbors at each side and across the road. No wifi. AT&T 1-2 bars of service.
Our campsite metal grill and campfire ring were consumed with corrosion and badly needed to be replaced.
A high amount of highway noise from TEXAS 111 where it crosses the lake.
Some “comfort stations” are only toilets/sinks in the campground. We found them clean and well maintained.
Quiet for the most part except for our party-animal neighbors who erected a large white event tent, complete with lights, at the back of their site where two dozen or so people were partying most of the night and lights were never turned off! So much for “quiet hours”! Lots of “foot traffic” through our campsite on their way to the event tent! We were surprised Park Management permitted the event tent there in the campsite. Our campsite fire ring was 30 feet from their event tent so no quiet evenings around our campfire! The only wildlife we saw were a couple of armadillos, who were being chased by the party animals!
Seven miles to the closest town, Edna, where there is a HEB grocery store, a couple gas stations and restaurants. Victoria is about a 30-minute drive where you will find Walmarts, HEB, Home Depot and major shopping retailers and restaurants. Don’t overlook The Morales Store and the Texana Historical Presbyterian Church!

This was our first time camping in an RV plus with two young kids (4 & 2 yo). Lake Texana was very nice. Secure entrance which requires a password after hours, parking pass on rear view mirror, plus a group of workers driving around checking the place/cleaning, etc.
We made it for the Halloween special, which is incredible! They put a lot of effort into it. So much for kids to do. The family had a blast.
Random, but really exciting side note is the wildlife we saw. A buck, doe, a LIVE armadillo (first time seeing one alive lol), and cardinal.
The campground has a great set up, not cramped or feeling like you are on top of one a bnm other. Restrooms were kept up with surprisingly.
Highly recommend Lake Texana for those looking to get away while wanting full or partial hookups (tents are also welcome). We will be back a couple weeks.

Great park w/ plenty of trees, spacious, wildlife and quiet. Internet and phone service is very poor, Our electric breakers tripped out, but maintenance came and fixed the problem, great job.

This is a great campground. I’ve been going here since I was little. It’s very easy to navigate, plenty to see and do, and kid friendly. Just watch those gators!

We spent a few days at Lake Texana Park during the week of Halloween. We experienced one of the neatest camping trips this year. They had an outdoor movie (Hocus Pocus) on Saturday and the whole park was decorated for the Spooktacular carnival. Most campers decorated their sites in the holiday spirit.
Campsites at Texana are always neat and restrooms are always clean. We counted at least two Boy Scout troops enjoying the park also. The hiking trails are well kept and the kids playground is very nice. Wifi is also provided and there are kayaks for rent.
Texana is our go-to park since it's close to home. Excellent park!!

We have camped at Lake Texana near Edna, TX for the last 4 winters. The campground is well maintained, bathrooms are clean, and everyone is friendly. They added "campers" events last winter like potluck and game night. Looking forward to being a Winter Texan for many more years!

We drive through this park to check it out. It seems very nice with plenty of shady spots to park the camper but I thought the fees were a little high. I’m not sure if we would stay here and pay that price.

I'm pretty sure it's allowed now since it's no longer a state park. Lavaca Navidad River Authority (LNRA) runs it now. I would call and ask.

Great! I'd suggest an area with shade and by the water! We only get spots on the water. Beautiful place

In 2012 Lake Texana State Park changed from being a Texas State Park to being managed by a River Authority. What is the difference between camping at Lake Texana under the River Authority and Brankenridge Park across the street?
كُتب بتاريخ 24 سبتمبر 2015
Texana side has a more state park feel to it with great state-park-like activities and amenities. The tree cover is also more consistent than the Breckenridge side. We've stayed on both sides and prefer the Texana side. When you stay on one side, you get day-use access on the other side. The Breckenridge side has some activities, like mini-golf and disc golf. Nice set-up and very peaceful!
