This is not a trail for beginners. There are a lot of hills and blind turns (you have to slow down). The visitor center is well worth seeing and a good spot to make the large loop around. Herring Cove is another good place to start but it's a ride to get to the main trail. You have to be cautious on this trail and don't go flying on down hills. Once you get to know the trail, you will enjoy it much more.

Walked part of the trail near the Race Point visitors center. Paths off the road, so safer than biking or walking on the side of a road. Restrooms in back open year-round. Water fountain in front.

Our family rented bikes for this trail. It’s stunning but it does take some effort! There are some big hills. I don’t know if it’s something I would do with younger children. Definitely worth the workout but it was also a mild summer day. Snacks and water are essential!

I am not in the best of shape and I was able to complete the entire trail and easily make it up the steep hills!

My wife and I walked a few miles on the Cape Cod Provincelands Bike Trail. Parking at the Province Lands Visitor Center was free, with substantial parking available. The asphalt trail is well-maintained. Unlike the Meadow trail, this trail does have some elevation change, but nothing too severe. Similar to the Meadow trail, there aren't many sights to be had (at least not on the section we walked) other than surrounding trees.

The scenery is stunning on this beautiful, but challenging trail. While it is completely paved, there are numerous hills and makes for some strenuous climbs. Well worth the strain on the calves. 😃

I rode this trail every morning, weather permitting, for 3 months and counting. The trail is very well maintained with a nice asphalt bike trail winding through the dunes and beech forest and up and down several hills. The National Park Service does a great job keeping the sand and tree debris off the trail and the excellent design keeps the rain water from puddling badly. I rode 27 miles each day, from the Far East End, through town early, and to Herring Cove and 3 loops of the trail. I saw deer, entire families of turkey, fox, what I think was a mink (?), one coyote out by the highway, and lots of smaller critters. Saw several beautiful sunrises. Fantastic experience. Thanks to all who make it possible.

We really enjoyed this 6-mile bike loop. It is hilly/ curvy and moderately challenging as the description/ reviews state, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. My boys are 10 and 13 years old and both pretty good athletes who work out and play soccer a lot - they were able to handle it. I would not want to do this bike trail with younger kids as it would be very tough for little ones without geared bikes, or kids or adults who are out of shape. For us, it was perfect.

Magical views, scenery, perfect trails - convenient to beaches and ranger stations with bathrooms and water. You'll remember this always.

Depends on which end you enter the trail. If from the middle of town up Conway and across route 6, you are probably better finding a b & b. That will also put you closer to restaurants, etc. but if you like it quieter, there is the AWOL or Provincetown Inn on the far west end. Probably about 1.5 miles back to center of town, but with the right room, great views of either the bay or marshes. Both a bit dated. And you need to ride a short distance on Rt. 6 along the marsh, which is what I do every day. Good shoulder to ride on and I have never had a problem. Oh, and places will really begin to close up after Halloween, so check on openings/closings before you get your heart set on any one place. Good luck.

Hi, Judy. What would you like to know about this attraction? This trail sounds great! Where did you rent the bikes? Can we leave our car at the bike rental? Thanks~ Judy

Quite a few rentals - we like Gail Force. If you are just taking the bike for the day. They let you park there. The Trails are just down the road. They will give you a Trail map-bike lock and helmet.
