Stopped here to enjoy a little more history while we were traveling through Idaho and Montana there are several historical markers of Lewis and Clark along the way. Some with beautiful mountain peaks and scenery.
This was a small visitor center but the lady working that day was delightful and full of information. She even allowed are small dog to come inside.
Very educational.
There are lovely grounds to walk and one takes you near the river. Statues near by as well.
large parking lot, restrooms and a small fee for going into the interpretive center

Nice location. Plenty of parking. Some interesting information. However there is just a wee bit too much hero worship here for those that have seriously studied the full life of Sacajawea. Some of that is understandable. After all the center is dedicated to her. They make the accurate point that her assistance was essential to the success of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Her knowledge of flora and fauna and her personal relationship with tribal leaders they encountered was critical to their ability to acquire horses. But little is really known about Sacajawea. That does not hold them back from offering lots of rather glorious explanations. To their credit one of the last outdoor signs admits we really do not know much about Sacajawea even the year or location of her passing.
This is a great location for a picnic or an evening stroll on a summer night after the center closes.

Amazing experience! Happy to see her finally given credit for her tremendously important role she played in the exploration of the West.

We went on a Sunday and the center was closed. Their hours listed when we drove by on Wednesday were 11-2 on Sunday; however, due to unforeseen circumstances, they were closed. It's run by volunteers so if they're not able to make it, the center remains closed. We enjoyed walking around and reading all the information panels and learning more about Sacajawea. They have scenic walking trails with huts and teepee structures, which are used or their living experience program. The interpretive center has exhibits and artifacts but unable to review them since it was closed. Walking the grounds is free. The center is $5.

Beautiful museum. Well done and informative. The grounds were impeccably groomed and also nicely present authentic Indian culture.

It was a pleasant stop and the displays were informative. You won't want to spend a lot of time here but is worth a short stop.

The park is all about the trail walk which also has a side shoot of a nature trail. It is very popular with dog owners as most everyone we came across came here to walk their dog along the trail. The path is very easy to follow and has some interpretive signs along the way. The small interpretive center could use a little more gift shop items. Not really a gift shop. The gem here is the trail and nature walk.

we learned a great deal about the native Shoshone people who lived in the valley and their interactions with Lewis and Clark, and later settlers. Don't miss the walk by the Lemhi River and native structures and explanations of the Salmon Eaters. A guide for native plants was useful too.

A different view of the Lewis & Clark exhibition focusing on Sacajawea's role and her critical importance to their staying alive and being successful. She knew what plants were edible, the Idaho and Montana landscape plus her known interpreter skills. Other exhibits included a Gah Tine tipi, Fishing Weir, and Sihu Vee Gahni (a type of lodge used in summer hunting. The movie was good as well.

One of many areas of interest to the famous Native American associated with the Lewis and Clark expeditions. Many stories in the visitors centre and walks of varying length around the salmon river. Worth an hr or two if you are in the area.

$10.00 and an hour or hour and one half if you walk the trail to the river through the tipi area and the primitive village
