I use these busses to go to Sidi Bouzid, Moulay Abdellah and, especially, Azemmour. The fare to these destinations is 4 dirhams, half the price of the Grand Taxi in the day and two fifths of the night price. I don't generally use them around town as taxis are ubiquitous, if more expensive.
The services run until about 10.30pm normally and until after midnight during Ramadan and in high season.
Although Equinox has been running these services for 4 years, they were originally doing it through a subsidiary. This entity was inefficient and rapacious and did not fulfil the contract obligations. Broken windows were not replaced, busses were not maintained properly, the promised clearly-marked bus stops with their route maps never materialised. Nor did the service to and from the railway station.
Under direct control, the awful Tata busses are slowly being phased out - these simply weren't up to the job and were dreadful jury-rigged horrors. It wasn't uncommon to see one going along leaning to one side as the suspension mechanism to allow the disabled on had broken and one side of the bus was permanently lower than the other.
A new set of Volvo busses has been bought and it was in one of these that I went to Azemmour the other day. It was a far better experience than before. Eventually, the fleet will consist only of these new Swedish busses.
Even so, on the old Tata ones that remain, the windows have been fixed and replaced with glass and not opaque plastic sheets and the vehicles are looking spruced up and better maintained.
It's getting better all round and it's a system I recommend for people wanting to travel alongside locals when wanting to visit the attractions around El Jadida. It's less hassle than the taxi.
