This was the second of two trips purchased via Egypt Excursions-the first was to Cairo, and all I can say is what a difference a guide can make.
It was a two day trip to Luxor with overnight stay, costing £128 each, including travel/accommodation and entry to the main sites. We got picked up at 5am and by 8 we were at the valley of the kings.
Unfortunately compared to our other guide, this guide was less knowledgable - some of the facts he gave us even directly contradicted those in the guide book.
You have to pay extra to take your camera in, and he didn’t give us this option, which was frustrating because lots of other people had them and it didn’t cost much. I got the sense that he did this to try to flog us a set of pre packaged pics and dvd. Or save time.
All in all it felt a bit rushed and soon we were off to an alabaster workshop where we were sold at - not overly aggressively, but it just wasn’t how I would have preferred to spend the time we had.
We then went to Hatshepsut’s temple, which was spectacular and we did get to spend a bit longer here. His knowledge seemed more comprehensive of this ruin.
Next stop was lunch which he recommended we pay for rather than the included restaurant lunch-takeaway mixed grill eaten on a boat which took us to our hotel. It was tasty food but overpriced-£20 each on top of the original package price. I got the sense he organised this at least in part to have a captive audience where he could sell us more optional extras.
Frustratingly, once we arrived at the hotel at about 2pm it was clear that this was the end of the organised part of the tour for the day. We opted to spend more to take a caleche (horse drawn carriage) tour of the city which was nice but again a bit annoying it wasn’t included

Zeker de moeite waard, maar betert eind september. Was 45 gr. Zijn meerdere graven te bezoeken en foto maken mag alleen met gsm.

me and my husband steve went to luxor with egypt excursionson 9th november and from being picked up from hotel with first class service all we can say is excellent!! i would definately go again with egypt excursion, they made our time there the best we have eva had and cant thank them enough ,truely lovely people and the guide went very experience and helpful and so passionate, it wasnt rushed and could take our time. I would recommend booking with egypt excurions as you get a fantastic day. Loved it!!

After an early morning pick up we drove to luxor where we met with Mahmoud at the Karnak temple, Mahmoud was a wonderful guide who was very knowledgeable and answered all of my 9 year old sons questions, we had lots of different options and got to choose where and when we went to different places, it was extremely hot and my daughter (8) struggled but Mahmoud was patient and kept us in the shade as much as possible!
We crossed the Nile on a boat for Lunch, which was very nice buffet!
Then to the valley of the kings where we had plenty of time to look at the tombs (again blooming hot) once ready the bus and out lovely driver was waiting, with the aircon on full blast! it was nice to cool off before we headed to the valley of the queens which again was very hot but an amazing thing to see!
Thank you Mahmoud and we hope to see you again when we return to Egypt in the future!

Detta är ett måste, att åka till Hatschepsuts tempel. Går inte att beskriva hur vackert det är. Ofta är det väldigt varmt här, då solen gassar på, så kanske inte rekommenderar det på sommartid. Vi hade en Guide, som hette Mohammed, tror han hette Ali också. Han var så kunnig och berättade allt vi ville veta, och lite till!

Apart from the shocking temperature (44 Celsius), our day was interesting and revealing.
The guide was very passionate and prepared, we had laughs together.
The lunch was terrible and we didn't stop only one time each way( from Hurghada to Luxor).
We knew it was a 3 hours drive to Luxor, but we arrived in 5 hours and half. The desert is impressive, traffic is just chaotic, we saw kids driving motorcycles... and nobody respects any driving signs.?!
Hatchepsut temple, Luxor Temple, Valley of Kings, impressive all throughout... too bad you're not allowed to take any pictures in the tombs- not even without flashlight. Guardians and police officers are a bit hostile.
All in all, nice experience but tiring... Our driver was amazing too.

Travelled with Egypt excursions,very punctual, Mahmoud our guide was very good and informative, relaxed atmosphere, no rushing , he allowed us extra time at sites we wanted to spend time at.visited on 01/06/2017

Luxor is a fabulous place to visit the sights only ever seen on TV, the net or in books.
This trip was made all the more rewarding by the presence of Mahmoud our very knowledgeable guide who's perfect English and lovely accent were a pleasure.
After a 4 hour journey in a minibus from hurghada we were rewarded with a private car and guide for our trip around the sights of Luxor.
Mahmoud was a godsend as our knowledge of ancient Egypt is quite sketchy. Nothing was too much trouble for Mahmoud, he looked after us impeccably. Karnak, Valley of the Kings, Hatchepsut Temple were all amazing and a solo lunch on our own boat on the Nile was very relaxing. We also had a very entertaining visit to an Alabaster workshop where refreshments and laughter accompanied some retail therapy! It is a long day but very well worth it!

Mahmoud was waiting for me when I arrived at Luxor Airport on a domestic flight from Cairo and not only transferred me to my hotel but waited until I had checked in. We arranged for an 08:30 pickup for the following day to visit both Karnak and Luxor temples, next morning Mahmoud and our driver was waiting for me, first stop was Karnak temple where I had a fantastic tour with as much time that I wanted, then onto Luxor temple again a great tour with Mahmoud answering all my questions with great passion for the history of Egypt, on the way back to my hotel he recommended that I visit the West Bank including the Valley of the King and Hatshepsut temple, two days later again Mahmoud was waiting for me for a fantastic tour of the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut temple, followed by lunch on a Nile boat
I can't recommend Egypt Excursions enough, everything went as planned and I'd recommend Mahmoud to anyone who wanted a guide in Luxor. He has a great sense of humour, made sure I had enough time to explore everything that I wanted to see, explained everything with so much passion and stayed with me when I wanted to go shopping knowing how nervous I was with a shopping experience so different from Europe
