We were a party of 11 and booked Chobe, lunch and boat ride for $115 usd pp. we had a full day of adventure with a wonderful lunch. It may have been the best meal on our entire trip to Africa. The safari vehicles were not as new as the one we had in Kruger but the guide was much better and the adventure much more raw, meaning we liked the dirt paths and the occasional off roading to get up close and personal. The reason for four stars instead of five.....we were promised two safari vehicles for 11 and when we arrived in Botswana they tried to squeeze us all together with another group. We refused. And we had not paid the other 1/2 so they complied. I don’t think this was Pretty’s fault. We learned in Kruger that you want two people per bench seat. Six is the perfect number. You can slide to the middle and get out of the sun or easily see the animals on the other side. The other reason for the4 is the boat seemed a little overloaded with 13 ppl. (We had picked up an extra guy that we had not expected on our tour). Also we had to demand the boat captain get two life jackets for our two no swimmers. A storm did hit and they were happy to have the life vest we had “borrowed” from the boat beside us. Our advice is be assertive if need be to get what you are promised and be assertive to look out for your own safety. Otherwise we would book again and again with Pretty. We enjoyed Chobe much more than Kruger. Our guide was awesome and Chobe was wild!

Overall this was a very positive experience. We worked with Pretty and did a package including a 2 day Chobe trip, bungee jump for one, and Zambezi river cruise. She gave us a discount because we bought all of these through Getaway. The price was better than the other safari groups we looked at. The Zambezi river cruise went very smoothly (got picked up from our hotel and dropped off) and we were on a platoon boat with other riders. The bungee jump also went smoothly with one of the staff walking us over to show us how to get to where we needed to go. The 2 day chobe trip was the one we had the most caution about. However, it ended up working out great. We were picked up at hotel on first day then did a boat cruise in morning and game drive in afternoon. We paid separately for an airbnb in Kasane (on cheaper end of things). Pretty helped us call and book hotel separately. The second day we did early am game drive and boat cruise in afternoon. The two days were booked with two different companies so we had different experiences both days (both positive). there was some confusion as to what safari we would be booked with the second day after we arrived at our airbnb but this was sorted out easily with one phone call from our airbnb host and pretty. I would recommend asking plenty of questions if you book with Getaway and make sure to look up reviews of hotels in Chobe if you are planning on staying overnight (some of the hotel options given to us didn't receive great reviews but we stayed at Nxabii which was great). Questions to ask (how you will be picked up/dropped off at border and to/from hotels, whether lunch is included, whether cost of transport is included-- it was in chobe except for final trip from Botswana border to our hotel in vic falls). Overall great experience and would book again!

We made a booking with GetAway Safari in Victoria Falls for a safari in Chobe National Park (in Botswana). We paid GetAway Safari $350 for two people (the asking price). When we finished the safari in Chobe National Park, the safari operator told us that GetAway Travel hadn't paid him any money. We had a difficult time with the whole situation, including paying the safari operator more money and almost getting stuck at the border between Botswana and Zimbabwe on the way home. My advice: NEVER BOOK AN EXCURSION WITH GETAWAY SAFARI. I strongly recommend booking excursions out of Victoria Falls using Shearwater Adventues -- they are trustworthy.

Visiting the Devil’s pool was one of the top activities for our visit to Vic falls. We made the booking with getaway safaris on our first day in town, scheduled for later in the week that included the trip over there plus lunch. Perfect!. On the day, We were taken over the bridge to Zambia, on to Livingston where the tour runs from, only to be told “sorry, we never received any booking under this name, we are full”. Long story short, after nobody being able to get hold of Pretty or Getaway safaris, there was no possible way we could get on to Devil’s pool. Basically getaway had taken our money but never followed through on actually booking the tour. We then spent a further 1.5 hours getting back through the border and customs etc and our taxi driver on the other side handed us our refunded money. Basically 11am -2:30pm was just a total waste of time moving back and forth between borders, making phone calls and trying to un**** this mess. Now with only one day left in zim, there is no way we can do this tour which we desperately wanted to do and had specifically arranged on our first day in town. Disappointed and annoyed is the most polite way to put it. Our taxi driver and Livingston staff made every effort to accommodate us and were extremely professional, the weak link was definitely Getaway. Furthermore, Getaway advertises on their window “Devil’s pool - unlimited space” THERE IS LIMITED SPACE!!

I hired a company called Cars and Guides based in Kasane for a return transfer to Vic Falls. They recommended GetAway for my helicopter ride. I was very impressed by their organisation, I was picked up on time and taken off to the heliport (Bonisair). I also appreciated the pula to dollar rate which was better than other establishments in town!. I have a list of all the activities they do and when I return next year I will be heading straight for them!!!

If you are going to Victoria falls call in on getaway safari agent - named "pretty". She is in their office on the main road. She arranged several things for us around town - the operators were friendly, reliable and relatively less expensive than other options.
Highly recommend her!

Good honest service, booked a helicopter ride over falls, everything went seamless. Shop is in great location in the main street to the falls. Highly recommend their services in a place where it is easy to get ripped off.

Helicopter flight a must!!! they Negotiated a good discount from advertised us$150 for 15 minute flight over Victoria falls. Picked up at hotel and dropped us off in town as requested. Good quality car. Lots of other adventure activities available also but we are too mature to partake. See comment on excellent flight elsewhere.

First, hats off for the Getaway team, great customer care and cheerful. loved our trip to Chobe, one of the best day trips i've ever had. We were picked in the morning from our hotel, to the Zimbabwe Botswana border, crossed, then to the river, started with a cruise in the chobe river. 'saw elephants, hippo, croco, lots of fun. then we had lunch by the banks and proceeded for a game drive. Now variety of animals in big groups, what a great wildlife Africa has. Can't wait to do this again, this time with my family!
