This bridge built in 1904 is worth a visit. It is 128m high with a great view. The bungee jump is 111m . Remember to get your gate pass from the border officials.

Completed in 1905, the bridge joins Zambia and Zimbabwe. You get good distant views of it from the national parks in both countries. It was part of Cecil Rhodes’ Cape to Cairo railway dream. There is only one lane of traffic at a time plus a railway line. You can walk the bridge, seeing rapids below. Train dinners from both countries spend some time on the bridge before pulling back for dinner. For those not faint of heart you can bungee jump from the bridge.

Seeing and walking this bridge was a key reason for this stop in our Africa trip this summer. Beautiful and picturesque. A few pearls from our experience:
1. We landed in Zambia and planned to cross into Zimbabwe (therefore, we only needed a single entry Visa. Not a KAZA Visa or multi entry Visa). $30USD for the single entry Visa. ($50 USD for the multi entry FYI).
2. We hoped to walk across the bridge while our driver drove our bags across. We realized our tour group operator (Wild Horizons) wasn't a private car (had other tourists) and some had destinations to get to. We simply drove across.
3. We stayed at the Vic Falls Hotel which is so close to the bridge. We decided to walk back to the bridge (was day light and very safe to do) and you show your passport to customs, they confirm your Visa stamp, five you a slip of paper and walk onto the bridge. Super easy. No money required.
Got great pics on each side of the bridge. Alot of street vendors trying to sell their goods. Always politely said "no thank you" and "have a good day" and they minded their business and moved on.
Mid bridge is also where you can bungee jump. Only vendor available for doing so. We didn't see anyone do it (we weren't going to) but this is the spot to do so if needed.

Impressive engineering over a wild river. A bridge for pedestrians, rail and vehicles and built in the late 1800's !

After seeing Victoria Falls at via the national park viewpoints, I wasn't done. There are some awesome views to be photographed from the bridge. Don't forget to point your camera to both sides of the bridge. There isn't much else there besides bungi jumping and a vendor or two, however, the crossing is worth it.

Did a quick border run over to Zambia to add a stamp to our passports. Nice walk and longer than we thought. But much to our surprise we were rewarded with this photo. Don't forget to look down :-)

We walked over this iconic bridge when we crossed from the Victorian Falls Township Zimbabwe to view the falls from the Zambian side and to visit to David Livingstone Museum and the impressive Royal Livingstone Hotel. There is a good view from Wild Horizons Lookout Café and definitely worth visiting for the delicious food. But, it makes for better viewing from inside the Vic Falls National Park, just make sure you take your trusty raincoats and protection for your camera….yes, we got “the smoke” on the way over but not on the way back! It was an easy walk and no queues to either depart Zimbabwe (make sure you purchase the multi visa on your way in @ the airport to cover you going into Zambia and returning to re-enter Zimbabwe 😊 Us Aussies no longer have to pay to enter Zambia just get the Visa stamp in our passports….bonus! The Zambian side of the falls were definitely worth seeing just not as impressive as from the Zimbabwean side. Again on our trip back over the bridge there was no need to queue @ either stop, not even interested if we had foodstuffs but the big challenge was getting back to Victoria Falls township without being harassed by the locals selling their souvenirs….it was relentless….although not quite as aggressive as the Egyptians!!! Some useless trivia, the engineer who was responsible for the design of this bridge also designed the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Reasonable view of the falls. Free for UK & EU citizens. Just leave your passport with border control. You'll likely need a small amount of kwacha for car guards.

You can view this impressive bridge right at the end of your walk around the falls, the track continues on but you have to retrace your steps to get out of the park.
It can also be seen well from the Lookout Cafe at Victoria Falls. Impressive bit of engineering, which we then crossed later in the day on our Rovos Rail journey.

We are going to VF the 3rd week in November 2020. I know its dry season but this is the only time we can go. For those who have been in mid-November, are the falls still impressive or not much water at all? Thank you.

We're there in early Sept, very little water. We took a long flight over the falls and to the National Park, didn't see animals either. Very disappointing. If you're already booked to go there, by all means. Otherwise save your money go elsewhere. No need to do the flight, absolutely waste of money.

Hello - traveling on US passport to Zimbabwe. We want to cross the bridge into Zambia to see falls from both sides.
1. Where do you get Kaza visa at VF airport?
2. Is yellow fever certification to re-enter Zimbabwe from Zambi, then travel onward to South Africa and back to US?

The Kaza visa is available from the immigration desk in the airport but usually only one of the kiosks has it so you may be pushed from one to another until you find the right one. When we arrived in April it was 2nd from right (ignore the sign saying Zim nationals). You only need a yellow fever cert. if travelling from a country with it. So unless you've stopped over or been to one before you should be ok. Check out the UK NHS web site which has very good advice on vaccinations.

Hi there,
Heading to Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe side) in 8 weeks (end March 2019).
We have a packed 3 day agenda, then on the 4th day we are getting picked up for the airport form our hotel (Rainbow Hotel) at 9.45am. We are really keen to walk across the Victoria Falls bridge to straddle the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia.
We are not actually wanting to go through the Zambia border crossing - I've read online in a few places conflicting view on whether additional Visas are needed or not. So my questions are:
1) If we were to walk from our hotel at 7am - is the enough time to walk to the bridge, through the Zimbabwe check point and half way across the bridge - then get back to the hotel in time for 9.45am?
2) Assuming we do not leave the Zambia side of the bridge, I've seen some say that actually as long as we have taken our passports with us, that we will get a stamped permit to reflect we are not entering Zambia and on returning that piece of paper back at the Zimbabwe check point then there is no cost for additional / multi-entry visa? We are both travelling on British passports.
I also know that the water level of the falls will be high at end of March, so we are prepared to get wet from the mist!
Any assistance appreciated - thanks!
:)

I want to add to my previous comment . There are a lot of local people crossing the borders daily (pedestrian ). Be at the border as early as you can . If you are going to view the falls , (walk down) why not cross the bride the same day ? You are there .

Hi, we are staying on the Zambia side and want to walk across to the Zimbabwe side. Do we need a visa before hand? Thanks

Not at all. If your intention is just 'walking' across the bridge then there shouldn't be a problem.
Other than that, be prepared to carry your travelling documents for immigration offices purposes.

No you don’t have to book. Yes they make a video and take photo’s. Not too sure about the go-pro rental.

It really depends on the amount of water going over the falls, from February to July is usually best depending on the rainfall they've had, and how much spray is drifting down through the gap to the Boiling Pot.

Pour pouvoir traverser ce pont ou, tout au moins, profiter de la vue dont parle Myriam S., faut il acheter un visa aux douaniers du Zimbabwe?
Merci!

No visa required if not crossing the bridge - have passports at hand at the Zimbabwe exit office and inform them that you are not crossing the bridge - just walking on it. We had visitors walking with us and that's all they did. They got a slip from the exit office indicating this.
