Was there Sunday 14 April with my partner. Amazing crowd from after dark. Karaoke started and boy that was so much fun. DJ was amazingly talented with singing too. Ambiance was friendly was just too shy to sing but i will be back again Funchal G-Point. See you guys soon.

Misleading. It’s a Venezuelan / Latino bar. The music and vibe was 5% iconic gay, the rest was cheesy regaetton, merengue, etc, etc. Not a gay bar.

This is NOT a gay bar.
It was once a gay bar but is now a heterosexual Venezuelan bar. Vestiges of its gay roots remain in the pink tiles and rainbow tee shirts of the bar staff but this is only clever spin to make it seem trendy.
No gay people go here.
We are a group of gays and lesbians and passed this place several times at night, drank here one weekend and one week day and can report zero gay activity and 100% heterosexuals.
Please like this so it stays at the top and others don't waste their time, thanks!

When GPoint opened it was the only known lbgt bar in Funchal, but due to bad management it slowly turned into a Latino bar with Venezuelan party nights, and now it's not a LGBT bar at all. Nowadays it's mostly straight Latino clients. It's a trap that they still use the LGBT flag in their logo, also the music is cheesy as hell.

If you are in Madeira you have to visit this bar. The team of staff were so friendly and welcoming. The music and entertainment was fantastic.
A truly local experience buried in e heart of Funchal.

Visited as reviews told us this was a gay bar - it certainly seems to attract a few fellow homosexuals however it doesn't come across as a gay bar.
Visited during Eurovision week - they showed semi-final 1 - great! We'll be back for semi-final 2 - they started showing it and then unceremoniously switched it off halfway through because they had some absolutely dreadful singer on singing really depressing ballads. Complete mood breaker and a number of people finished their drinks and left.
Then on the Saturday popped in to see if they were going to show the Eurovision final - No - they had a DJ on playing generic dance music. Very disappointing.
That being said - the drinks are cheap and the staff are friendly. Nice little location with outdoor seating.
Funchal is lacking gay bars however G Point sadly doesn't quite fit the bill.

Nice little bar, drinks are cheap and you can smoke inside. Bar staff mostly speak fluent English which is good. I quite like how its got a very chilled atmosphere. Some awful karaoke but other than that spot on.

We came over from England and came to G Point on the first night! Every single night of our holiday we returned to G Point as we were made to feel so welcome by ALL of the staff who greeted us every night and were so kind and helpful even if we had a mini language barrier haha! We absolutely adored the karaoke nights and the DJ was amazing and so friendly! The drinks prices were so good and we felt so at home and the staff did eveything they could to ensure this! I highly recommend you put G Point on your ‘to-go’ list for your evenings out in Funchal! We love and miss you all!

With outside space, live entertainment, dance music, and cute bar men..... and it’s the only fully gay option on the island. Worth a trashy little visit. And it just turned 1 year old!

We visited here on a fairly quiet Tuesday but they couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. We enjoyed a few drinks which weren’t expensive but were delicious..
There is an outside area where you can watch the ‘bar dog’ run around (but don’t let that put you off if you aren’t a dog fan - it ignored us).
We also sat inside and enjoyed some great music in comfortable seats. It didn’t really get going till around midnight but it was a Tuesday after all. We can’t wait to visit closer to the weekend.
As for covid 19 measures (we visited during a world wide pandemic) everything felt safe and well organised. There is hand sanitiser everywhere and people were wearing masks where appropriate
There is a full cocktail menu to dive into or the usual spirits and mixers to enjoy. Also didn’t hurt that the bar man was easy on the eye.
