Uma visita extraordinária, rica em aprendizagens significativas. Além de todas as aprendizagens sobre a floresta mediterrânica, o montado e sobre a cortiça, os alunos aprenderam a importância de respeitar o património natural do nosso país.

Casa com uma espetacular interpretação sobre o ecossistema Montado: biodiversidade, atividades humanas e tradições alentejanas. Aqui é possível ver as propriedades da cortiça, os diferentes usos do solo para a agricultura, pastorícia e natureza, e a sua importância económica, social e ambiental para a região.

A delightful introduction to the Montado ecosystem and its importance to the production of cork, the museum is a series of rooms in a lovely building with exhibits explaining the species of oaks, including the cork oak, found in these woodlands, as well as the basics of the cork industry. I loved the room with beautiful illustrations of the wildlife found in the Montado ecosystem. If you are interested in the natural history of this area, you will enjoy this peaceful and lovely museum. If you are fortunate, your visit will be on a day when the Brazilian woman working on her master’s in Biology is working: she knows so much about the Montado and generously answered all our questions.

I felt I should have received a diploma after viewing their exhibits! So, so much to learn about that piece I pull out of wine bottles. Cork a lot more than that, and then there's the trees and the processes to harvest what we use. Well done museum.

Pleasant space, interesting content, nice staff.
I recommend a visit. It will take around 45minutes or longer if you decide to stay a little longer and enjoy a drink in the terrace.

Tudo o que se possa querer saber sobre o montado está aqui. Desde as árvores aos animais que dele fazem parte ao modo de exploração a importância da cortiça e da bolota. Aconselho vivamente a visita guiada pela Andréia Sousa, uma força da natureza, que, com conhecimento de causa, nos transporta com paixão através da história deste sistema agrícola que a mão do homem moldou. A não perder em Évora!
