Tour given by one of the son’s of the Count. Very informative. We saw 15 different rooms in the palazzo. Some beautiful old Murano glass chandeliers and beautiful ceramic floors.

This was a fascinating visit - really interesting history and building, filled with lovely things. Excellent tour. Wonderful that it is still a home, lived in and loved. Highly recommend this visit. Allow time to find it - fairly neat the cathedral but in the backstreets

This really is one if not the best tourist attraction we have visited. Although ‘tourist attraction’ doesn’t do it justice, the Palazzo is so much more.
We were a small group guided around the house by one of the sons of Conte Federico, this was such a personal experience and allowed us a glimpse of their family home, rooms of which are still used today. We felt very privileged to be allowed to look at the family photos.
The rooms are stunning, the ‘hobby’ rooms of his parents filled with pictures, medals, trophies and stories. There are steps up to the tower which houses the kitchen and entertainment room, such a spectacular space, it is worth the climb just to try to lift up one of saucepans!
Maya the cat was also a star, barely lifting her head to acknowledge visitors however still receptive to a fuss and a little stroke as we passed by.
This is not a museum, you are being taken around a home with a member of the family.
We felt honoured to be there.
An absolute must.

Visita molto interessante in un palazzo meraviglioso nel centro di Palermo, in cui è "passata" parte della storia del nostro paese. I proprietari hanno intelligentemente deciso di condividere le stanze di loro proprietà, ma che in un certo senso, avendo un interesse storico, appartengono un po' a tutti. In questo modo si riesce a preservare un luogo ricco di interesse e dare la possibilità ad altri di poterne "usufruire". Forse un po' caro il biglietto, ma credo che ne valga la pena. Più stranieri che italiani...un peccato.

Beautiful palazzo in the middle of Palermo. The family do the tours which is superb as it’s so personal. Absolutely fabulous experience and great value for money

Fascinating tour of the Comte Federico palace - it’s a real contrast to the other experiences in Palermo and close to the Cathedral. You need to book in advance.

Il fascino particolarissimo di questa dimora dipende dal fatto che è una abitazione viva e vissuta dalla famiglia, di antica aristocrazia e di attuali interessi. La particolare struttura del palazzo, edificato sulle vecchie mura cittadine e la presenza di ambienti che risalgono ai primi secoli dello scorso millennio rende unica l'esperienza, resa del resto gradevolissima dalla affabilità, simpatia e davvero aristocratica cortesia di chi ci ha guidato.

The two gentlemen at the front desk ( not 24 hour staffed ) were kind and friendly and although their English was very limited, I had no problem using Google translate for two-way conversation. Breakfast is no longer provided because guests had been taking advantage of the food in the past. The location is hard to find but I will give simple directions below. After getting my bearings I walked or got the bus to most of the famous sites. The city buses and the airport bus are a few steps away. Outdoor restaurants and markets are very close by.
DIRECTIONS/ important:
Take the airport bus ( only 6 euros -don’t risk taxis) and make it clear to the driver you need to be alerted to your Sant Domenico/ Renascente stop- pronounced Rena shen tay. I missed the stop because I didn’t understand the driver’s pronunciation so keep asking if you are there yet or follow on Google maps. The ride is 50 minutes in comfort.
At Sant Domenico (Renascente department store) cross the plaza diagonally and go down the side street (alley way) beside the tobacco store. You will see umbrellas and outside restaurant tables. Take the last alley on the left then first right. ( should see some graffiti with BB on the wall - it doesn’t mean bed and breakfast). Keep going and just before the street turns an abrupt right, look for the door with Gatto Pardo in small letters on the intercom’
There is a wonderful little western style cafe for breakfast if you cross Via Roma. The narrow street is opposite where the horse and carriages wait for tourists. Keep walking and you’ll find it on the right. Go just before 10 am opening- there is often a queue ( line up ) as it is popular. Eggs Benedict is a good choice.
On Via Roma, Seven Restaurant is upscale and good. Keep walking past that on Via Roma and you will find a large supermarket with good prices for bottled water, very inexpensive wine and etc.

Palazzo storico ancora abilitato dalla famiglia Federico, personaggi eclettici rappresentanti delle proprie origini storiche e delle loro peculiari eccellenze contemporanee. Da questo scaturisce un ambiente che è una comunione di bellezza architettonica contaminata dalla stratificazione di vari stili e dalle molte memorabilia ad essi connessi che si mescolano con quelle dei componenti della famiglia.
E sarà proprio uno dei familiari ad accogliervi e a svelare gli aspetti storico artistici degli ambienti, aneddoti e ricordi familiari ad essi collegati.

Buon giorno!
The palazzo is open every day, except for Wednesday.
Tours in English and Italian start every hour from 11 to 16.
It is not necessary to book.
The tour takes 45 min and the cost is €10 per person.
We are looking forward to seeing you.

Buon giorno!
During the months of January and February there is one tour in Italian and English every Thursday and Saturday at 12.00.
From March 4th the regular tours start again: every day, except for Wednesday, tours in English and Italian every hour from 11 to 16.
It is not necessary to book.
The tour takes 45 min and the cost is €10 per person.
Photos are allowed.
We are looking forward to seeing you.

Le visite guidate partono ogni ora dalle 11 alle 16.
Non c'è bisogno di prenotare.

Onestamente non ricordo, mi sembra dieci euro, ma li vale tutti. Puoi sempre chiedere il prezzo prima di entrare, poi decidi. Buona vacanza
