Beautiful place, bit of something for all ages, food availability for longer would have been helpful. Maybe longer openinng hours overall?

Whilst very beautiful, I did sense that the staff in the main areas, especially the castle were considerably more interested in ensuring “the rules” were OBEYED at all costs. It felt like, you cannot do this or that, because it broke rules that seemed a little OTT, for example, you must carry your bag at the front of you just in case it gets in the way. In the way of what !!!
This seemed to be far more important than saying, “good morning or welcome” additionally, despite only a handful of people at the castle, you were TOLD IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS to enter the castle and not the other way. In fact one couple were shouted at. (I heard your member of staff actually say “ that’s my sergeant major voice” oh gosh, how ridiculous, in a counter clockwise direction. In all honesty it felt rather petty, if I may say. The catering facilities were, style wise, very much, fast food at high prices, a la Costa coffee. The place generally felt, money, money, money, sad from such a gracious place
All in all, we felt that our membership renewal, due 8th September won’t be happening because most things seemed to be centred around Leeds Castle as an organisation as opposed to us, as paying guests

Myself and my husband who is disabled have been coming here every few weeks for the last 3 years and absolutely love it. The cost of a ticket which you can you use as many time as you like for a year is amazing. We have found all of the staff very friendly and helpful.
The grounds are absolutely fantastic and we love seeing the changes with the seasons. We just have a stroll round with a coffee or ice cream depending on the weather.
The castle itself is beautiful unfortunately there is no wheelchair access to upstairs but this has been the same whichever castle we visit because of the age of the buildings, however we make the most of our visits including the jousting, artisan fair, motors by the mote and the sculpture trail all of which are included in the price of your yearly ticket. The castle at Christmas is stunning with beautiful Christmas trees in each room. We’ve also been to the Christmas lights both years which are an additional cost.
We’ve also brought our granddaughter here a few times who is 8 and she loves it, so much for her to see and do the maze, sand pit, crazy golf, obstacle course, the fort and birds of prey, we also brought her to the Halloween event where she dressed up met characters and solved the puzzle.
Also for the first time we are booking for the fireworks so fingers crossed they are as good as everyone says.

Leeds Castle has always been my favorite castle. Whether you visit it as part of a multistop tour or just on its own, it's a "must visit" on my list. Unlike other castles it's small, warm and friendly. It also has everything a respectable castle should have: A wall, a mote, a seperate servents house, a lake and a small village just up the hill. Oh, and a history, unlike any other castle.
Does it compare to Windsor or Alnwick? No, but it holds its own and will always be on my must visit list. Not to mention my wife wants us to put a bid in on it because she too has fallen in love with it.

We stayed in a Lakeside Lodge and had dinner in the Castle View restaurant. Everything was great and we really enjoyed our time there. Thanks to Melissa in Accommodation Reception, and to the team in the Castle view Restaurant.

We had the most amazing time staying at Leeds Castle. From start to finish it couldn’t have been more perfect. The room completely surpassed our expectations - the decor was beautiful and it was massive (we felt like millionaires!). We loved the cosy vibe and it was so warm and conveniently located to the castle. The food at the castle view restaurant was second to none. Shoutout to Megan and Imogen and the whole team who made our experience so pleasurable. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt so at ease. The castle itself is beyond magical and we loved walking around it, helped by the knowledgable and friendly staff. The gift shop had a fantastic array of goodies and we definitely got carried away! We are so grateful to the whole team at the castle and there is so much more we could praise. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We can’t wait to come back!

I received the Owl Experience as a birthday present and overall I wasn’t impressed. It was more expensive than a previous falconry experience I did at Rare Breeds which was excellent, very informative, I was involved with bird admin on the day and flew a bird for a good portion of the time - sadly they no longer do this. I thought that using volunteers to run an experience that cost somewhere near £100 is not that great, they were nice but my wife paid good money why wasn’t an actual falconry member of staff present for the whole event. They were reading the bird details off of cards! We spent too long looking at the birds, in fact almost 2/3 of the time. I actually only flew one bird outside as the other refused and flying the 2x birds inside was just basically rubbish. This was not good value and I am upset my wife has wasted her money. I mean it didn’t even last the full 3 hours!

Thank you for your review Colin, I’m sorry you didn’t feel the experience was up to your expectations.
Obviously when dealing with animals they can be unpredictable and sometime don’t always want to do what we ask. We can’t force them to do anything so sometimes they do just sit there and not move.
I appreciate your comments on volunteers however the Castle does have a great volunteer programme and all our volunteers within the team know what they’re doing and are trained to run experiences and fly the birds.
There was member of staff around for the whole experience and even was in the arena when you flew some of the birds.
Due to the Owl not flying we did end up finishing the experience slightly earlier, the other birds we have were all set ready for the display so we couldn't use them.
Again I apologies you didn't enjoy the experience as much as you'd hope.

Well worth the visit for a fun family day out. Plenty to do for everyone. Much more than just a castle! My family had a fab time.

Spent one night here in the Windsor room. What an absolute delight. Was a special occasion spent in such a beautiful room with such luxury. The castle was set in the most beautiful grounds and we were able to walk around the grounds after the castle closed. This was delightful and the views were stunning.
Had an evening meal in the restaurant which was delicious with a beautiful view of the castle in the evening light. Would recommend a stay here. The staff are so lovely and helpful and the luxury of the room made it.
Ideal for a romantic evening away within beautiful grounds.

Hello,
I plan on taking a train from London to get to Leeds Castle. Their website suggests a taxi or walk from Bearstead station to reach the castle.
- is it convenient to find a taxi? Is it expensive?
-I don’t mind walking, but I worry about the safety. Is it just walking along o roadway or is there a clear path?

I'm not sure about the train. We took a bus and it stopped inside the grounds in front of the castle proper.

I did not see any during my visit. In fact, our bus had to park across the road and we walked up. The castle itself is more of a home than a fortress so certainly no bikes would be allowed inside even to just park them.

I exchanged my e-ticket for a physical annual pass which I have since lost. Is there anyway to get a new one by showing my e-ticket and matching it up to their database since they took my photo to prove it’s me?
