We visited the Kent Owl Academy today, myself, my friend and my teenage son. We booked the owl and meerkat joint experience. The weather wasn't great so we had a phone call saying we wouldn't be able to fly the owls or see the meerkats today but could handle some owls and be rebooked for the flying of the owls and meerkats. I was pleasantly surprised by this as means we get to visit twice! Ed, Nick and Jonny were all amazing volunteers. They were all so polite, knowledgeable and really loved the owls and birds of prey. The birds were treated beautifully, it was a magical experience helped by a lovely cuppa and some biscuits to warm us up. Thank you so much to the team we can't wait to come back and see you again for part 2! ❤️

Superb family activity...
We had a group of 14 celebrating an 80th Birthday and Charlotte and colleagues could not have been more lovely looking after us. The owls were beautiful and we were able to handle 4 of them. The team answered all questions patiently and positively. Their knowledge of their owls was fantastic. The weather was an absolute stinker but did not spoil it at all. This is a top attraction. Thank you.

The owl experience was amazing being able to hold the owls and flying them the staff syl and Ed we both great and knowledgeable about the owls and other animals

We went here for a birthday treat for me, with my 2 teenage children. We had the BEST TIME! I smiled so much my face hurt. We got to meet 4 amazing owls and fly one too, it was fantastic. They were absolutely beautiful and so full of character. Ed and Nick were really friendly and knowledgeable, it was just an absolute pleasure for the whole session. Highly recommended if you like owls!

What an amazing experience. Booked this for a Christmas present for my husband, Dad and I.
Started with a hot chocolate, handled 2 Owls and flew a barn owl. Charlotte abd Jon were amazing.
However, Teacup stole the show.
I could not recommend enough.

What an amazing experience! It was just me and my husband and we had an incredible time. The volunteers really made it, they knew everything about each owl, no matter what questions we asked and were so friendly and helpful. Really lovely people. Then the owls! Oh my, to get to hold them was amazing. We held 3 different types of owl which was amazing. There was a falcon on a perch watching and 2 buzzards and a Golden Eagle, all having a sunbathe close by. But the fantastic part was having the barn owl fly to us and land on our hand. It flew 6 times to each of us! They are such beautiful birds. It is definitely worth a visit. Go and support them. They do an amazing job.

Our son was given a voucher for Kent Owl Academy for his birthday back in march.
The owl experience was fantastic, with the chance to hold a few different owls as well as the thrill of having an owl fly to him.
The staff were all very engaged and friendly, sharing lots of information about the owls.

Booked the Owl Experience for owl loving daughter's big birthday and wasn't disappointed - beautiful birds and amazing to be so close to them. Nick (and Kyle) were on hand, answered questions easily and offered information when we were a bit awestruck. - they obviously enjoy what they do. Thank you to them. We learnt a lot from the experience (some things we didn't know we didn't know). My daughter's already planning her next visit!

Hi there, The Kent Owl Academy is not a stand alone attraction and therefore is bound by the visiting hours of the venue it is situated within. Normally around 10am-5pm (This is subject to change during Summer & Winter months). There is no entry fee to enter the Kent Owl Academy directly. However, you would have paid the entry fee to Kent Life upon entering the premises. The Owl centre is simply an exhibit within. Should you want to book an experience with the owls, this is best done in advance and through the website directly.

Hi there,
The Kent Owl Academy offers many experience days and one in particular that is tailor-made for children. Aimed at age 6+ this experience is perfect for a boy of seven years old, especially if he loves owls!
If you have a look on the website, you will see the children's experience. Vouchers are purchased online and sent via email. It is recommended that you always book us for it in advance as possible to avoid disappointment.

Hello June,
Kent Life and the Kent Owl Academy are separate businesses. However, when you pay to come into Kent Life, you can see the owls at the academy (We are an exhibit within the confines of the park, therefore you are able to walk along and see the owls in their aviaries, as well as flying demonstrations pending the weather and season)
However, should you wish you book an experience day with us, you would do that via our own website and booking system.
