There are lots of great monuments and statue's in Liverpool, one of the standout statue's is the equestrian statue in honour of Queen Victoria, the work of renowned equestrian sculpture Thomas Thornycroft and unveiled to mark a visit by Queen Victoria to Liverpool on the 9th of October 1851, its a great looking statue ,very regal, very photogenic, its a statue that adds to the joy of walking around this part of the city and easy to locate outside St George's Hall along Lime Street.

In front of the magnificent Hall the Monarch sits side-saddle on a horse that has the air of being keen to be on its way.
Created by Thomas Thornycroft and unveiled in 1870 it is close by one by the same sculptor of her husband Prince Albert.
In her right hand she holds the handle of a riding crop, the remainder of which has been lost.

A beautiful sunny June afternoon ,really hot ,I was heading with my twin brother Stephen to The North Western Pub to enjoy some cold beers and walked through the square in front of the magnificent St Georges Hall and passed this statue in honour of Queen Victoria.
A great equestrian statue ,the work of sculptor Thomas Thornycroft and unveiled in honour of a visit from this monarch on the 9th October 1851,it's a great statue and well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along St Georges Place.

Although at the moment the area around St George's Place is a bit of a construction site ,has been for age's ,over the Christmas period the whole of St George's Place was covered by the Christmas market, a particularly good landmark I met my friends was by Queen Victoria Equestrian Statue, a wonderful statue ,one of many around this beautiful area of St George's Quarter.
It's a well detailed statue, shows the monach riding side saddle ,looked cool ,very photogenic, makes for some great photographic opportunities and is most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

On St George's Place in front of the magnificent St George's Hall are two superb statues both sculpured by renowned equestrian sculptor Thomas Thornycroft, one to Prince Albert and this one to Queen Victoria.
Arguably one of our most popular monarchs ,this beautiful equestrian statue is so well detailed, the statue is almost animated, it must have took great skill to create such a wonderful statue, its very photogenic, makes for some great photographic opportunities and adds to the joy of walking around St George's Hall, its easy to locate along William Brown Street, exit Lime Street Railway Station and you cannot fail to see St George's Hall and these beautiful equestrian statue's.

Outside St George's Hall are a number of statues including Price Albert and his wife Queen Victoria. Both of them are sat atop horses. This is a good statue of the queen who is now our second longest reigning queen. Many statues of her are in her later life. This one is of her when she was younger prior to the death of her husband.
It is fairly easy to locate, If you come out of the main exit of Liverpool Lime Street Station cross the road and it is outside St George's Hall.
