Arrived here early in the morning as not many people were here it was quite delightful. It soon filled up! Bring your own snacks as hotel only guests it would appear for restaurants!

Certainement la plus belle plage que j'ai pu voir pendant mon roadtrip en Thaïlande, avec d'une part ses magnifiques falaises et d'autre part ses formations karstiques surgissant de la mer.
Très peu de monde en janvier 2023,ce qui est encore plus agréable.

Bellissima spiaggia non troppo piena di gente(perche le barche nn ci arrivano e per raggiungerla serve camminare un po)e contrariamente a Reiley beach è anche silenziosa e l'acqua bella! Consigliata

Though it's quite a trip to get to Ao Phra Nang and come back to Ao Nang by the long-tailed boat, it's definitely worth the trouble to get there! So gorgeous and the water was crystal blue!

This is by far the best beach on the Railay peninsula and thanks to us visiting just as Thailand exits the pandemic properly there were far fewer tourists than I imagine this beach has seen in many years. As a result, this was a tranquil piece of paradise with beautiful soft sand, awesome views, pretty caves and calm water…definitely one of the finest beaches we saw in Thailand.

We came here 23 years ago so we were very interested to see it again…’
‘Wow’ is our reaction once again, it is simply beautiful, the isolation and towering rock formations hold you in awe. The sea is turquoise and blue and the swim across to the rock just off the beach 🏖 gives you another brilliant perspective of the beach and rock formations.
Make sure you walk to the other end of the beach and swim underneath the over hanging rocks if the tide is out. There are plenty of overhanging trees for shade if you want to spend the day there but get there early as all the best spots will be taken by other tourists.
I can’t recommend this enough, a must see if you are in the area, boats come here from all around.

This is the perfect place for a marriage proposal. I didn't...but you could!
We walked over from our hotel at the Avatar at around 8am. The caves on the way are super cool! When we arrived there may have been another 4 or 5 people there spread out on the long, beautiful beach. We had a romantic and amazing time swimming under the cliffs and walking down the nearly deserted beach with its mind-blowing, travel documentary-like rock formations. It was an amazing couple of hours.
Then the tour boats showed up disgorging masses of international tourists.
The population of the beach went from a handful to hundreds in about 30 minutes. It was borderline infuriating...Selfies everywhere. Then the tide came in...and poof, they were all gone as if they'd never been! Back to relaxation by 12-1pm!
A boat with a full kitchen showed up too! There are no permanent vendors allowed here. The boat sold beer, lots of food options and soft drinks and water. It was awesome! They also take back their garbage. Make sure to give it back to them and keep this paradise clean.
Bring water, waterproof footwear, sun safety stuff and a blanket to lounge on.
Be prepared to get wet on the walk back if you leave during high-tide. We were soaked to the waist. We were both stung a bit by what I presume were very small jellyfish or organisms while swimming. The stings faded quickly and most of my time in the water, (Which was a couple of times an hour) I wasn't affected.
Despite the tour boats, mild stings and soaking, this beautiful beach was a highlight from our trip and I will always remember it.

Sono stato in quest'isola in occasione del tour delle 7 isole durante il mio recente viaggio in Thailandia in compagnia della mia fidanzata.
Si tratta di un'isola davvero molto romantica, ci siamo stati al tramonto e abbiamo cenato in spiaggia con lo staff della barca che ci ha portati in tour tra le varie isole.
Lo skyline al tramonto è davvero mozzafiato, la sensazione di pace che si prova in questo luogo è davvero impagabile!
Da visitare assolutamente se ci si trova ad Ao Nang, la si può raggiungere con le escursioni organizzate, ma anche col trasporto "di linea".
Si tratta di un'isola davvero molto romantica, ci siamo stati al tramonto e abbiamo cenato in spiaggia con lo staff della barca che ci ha portati in tour tra le varie isole.
Lo skyline al tramonto è davvero mozzafiato, la sensazione di pace che si prova in questo luogo è davvero impagabile!
Da visitare assolutamente se ci si trova ad Ao Nang, la si può raggiungere con le escursioni organizzate, ma anche col trasporto "di linea".

The beach has beautiful white sand and turquoise waters. It offers a great view of the nearby islands and can be easily reached by long-tail boat. There is a cave with phallic symbols at one end of the beach. Unfortunately it is very popular and at peak times the beach is full of long-tail and other boats. So you can't really swim or sunbathe on it. You can only walk on the beach and admire the great views.

Hi so my boyfriend and I are taking a trip to Bangkok and already booked another flight to land in krabi for two days. So we want to see the limestone rock and beautiful beaches (scenery from music video I got U - Duke Dumont ).
We also want to do scuba diving, canoeing, elephant trekking, + anything else that is recommended? within these two days
So after some research, I am looking into staying at Ao Nang to be close to Phra Nang and then take a boat to Hong Island, and another boat (the second day) to Phang Nga Bay.
How does that itinerary sound? Which area would be better to stay in if Ao nang is not the best choice? Which islands are better or worse? Is that reasonable to do in 2 days ?
Any information or feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

Your IT is great but you cannot get it all done in 2 days. Ao Nang is close to everything. Fantastic beaches and good snorkeling but these areas are very crowded with tourists until
sometime after April. Forget the elephant trekking in Krabi....
there are many better places in Thailand for that and tiger viewing. You need at least 5-6 days to accomplish your list of desires. Have a GREAT time!!

Many people are confusing Ao Phra Nang to Ao Nang. They're 2 different beaches. Ao Nang is the strip of beach where tuk tuks n motorbikes are running crazy, like a mini Patong in Phuket.
Phra Nang is a small protected cove in the South of Railay peninsula, about 20 min long tail boat ride from Ao Nang or 40 min from Krabi town.
Having said that, I haven't been to Railay or Phra Nang since Dec 1998, before hoards of tourist day trippers spoilt the place, but still doubt there's tuk tuks n motorbikes zooming around.

Ao Phra Nang is Ao Nang as a whole. The beach on Railay is Phra Nang Cave Beach.
