This is a large park that is in constant use by Taipei residents. Even on a cold winter day you will find people exercising. Love it for the blooms & birds you can hear singing. Some even bravely saunter past you. Day and night this park is pretty & safe.

Nice place to walk around and kill time. A lot of activity from music performances to Tai Chi. Good way to get some exercise.

A good place to go for a run. Or take a walk with the family as it has several green spaces and a. Lake, very nice, however, I leave a little to be desired.

On my last day in Taipei, I didn't have any plans for sightseeing, so I just grabbed some wonton noodles at a nearby spot, then headed to Daan Forest Park to chill out and wait for my airport time. The park is huge, super clean, with plenty of benches and pavilions for folks to relax. There are a few ponds in the park, with the largest one being a haven for lots of birds like herons and cranes — their calls echoed all around. Plus, there were some cheeky squirrels and brave pigeons getting up close with people. Near one corner of the park is the Daan MRT Station, a big one, with a nice café outside. Just roll your luggage into the station, hop on the train to Beimen Station or Taipei Main Station, then head straight to Taoyuan Airport—super convenient. Saying goodbye to Taipei with a refreshing morning in the park was just perfect.

What a beautiful park.
Really well set out with lots of shady spaces and benches, as well as a huge kids park, ball games area etc. We watched people doing thai Chi too.
The flower borders and tree areas are lovely, as is the main pond. So many birds!
So much to see and space to relax.

If you are into birds, then this is a park you should visit. We walked so many trails and yet only saw a small portion of the park. The flowers in bloom were just unbelievable. A great place to spend several hours in beautiful surroundings.

I liked the big statue of Guan Yin that people sometimes stop and pray at while they are jogging. It's a nice little park that people seem to enjoy a lot. It's a real asset to the the city. There are even bird watchers with their cameras set up, but there did not seem to be many birds at the pond. Maybe they were just photographing each other. :P

There are many wild birds, people with cameras, and groups quietly practicing tai chi. There is also a firefly breeding ground. Even though it is early January, the temperature is 18 degrees Celsius, which is unimaginable in Japan, and the azalea flowers are blooming. It is a peaceful moment when you can feel the spring a little early.

When I accidentally passed Daan Park, I saw a neat and spacious park. Many elderly people exercise and relax here.

If you need to get away from the business ore only to relax a moment.
This is where you can go. Just for the fun are like to exercise around the park.
Great parking under the area, ore just arrive with the metro.
have the simple coffee at Louisa coffee.

Is it a good idea to visit on a Sunday? Or is it better to go on a weekday?

Any day in the morning is a crowded affair with lots of people doing their morning exercises. In the afternoon or later morning, weekdays are more quiet. If you are looking for the regular birds that are in the central pond, they're there all the time and all over the park.
