We wanted to visit a space to be with nature near Bolsover, so visited this nature reserve. We manged to get the end of the blackberries and saw a bird of prey fly over, looking so elegant. There are some benches spotted around, some with beautiful views.

Beautiful walk with abit of wildlife. Birds, butterfly's and birds of prey. Parked easily bit the carpark is small. Very busy

There's a small car park off an industrial estate, or another down near the Stockley trail. From here you can work your way through the reserve down to two lakes or join the Stockley trail. On the way there's a variety of habitat for birds and dragonflies in summer. There's also a couple of view points overlooking the larger lake and a couple of seats on the small one where fishing takes place. Plenty of seating dotted around the site, it's good for a picnic as well.

This nature reserve gives you two in one. There are two small car parks - one off an unnamed road in an industrial estate and the other for the Stockley trail which brings you a little nearer the lakes.
A map at the start of the reserve gives a rough outline of the walking trails, which include access to two viewpoints over the large lake for birdwatching. There's plenty of benches dotted around as you walk the trails. Good for birdwatching, including dragonflies and wild flowers. Also popular with dog walkers, cyclists and fishermen. Although some of the path is rough and there are a few slopes and steps, families enjoy it too.
No facilities so take a packed lunch.
