If you are a big fan of shoes and fashion in general, you'd enjoy it. Several centuries represented by the kind of shoes they used to make and wear. Shoes once owned by famous people, (basketball and soccer players, the queen Elizabeth, and Mexican actors and olimpic medalists).

In the floor above centennial El Borceguí shoe store in Mexico City hides a "down to earth" treasure. Over three thousand pairs of shoes take you on a fashion trip of humanity's desire not to endure the roughness of terrains bareskined. From Babylon to China, from Spain to the Amazon and from the North Pole to the Moon you can follow the development of shoes on a timelined display that takes you from the most basic sole to the boots worn by astronauts in the Moon. Also, in a few special displays you can see shoes worn by celebrities like Her Majesty Elizabeth II, actress María Félix and even Mexico City's Mayor. In the sorrounding displays you can see over a hundred pairs of sneakers worn by sport celebrities and there are those golfer shoes too. In the upper arcade you can wonder in front of thousands of miniature shoes from El Borceguí's own collection. This is a little jewel museum off the beaten path and entrance is free! It is open from Monday to Saturday from 10 to 6 with but closed for a lunch break from 2 to 4. When you get to the door, just go upstairs where you'll find a gate. If it is not automatically opened, all you have to do is ring the bell and voilá! You're on your way back in time looking at one of humanity's most basic piece of apparel.
